I have been writing songs for as long as I can remember, going back to the days of playing my guitar in my father’s pub in Northern Ireland during ‘The Troubles’.

I played in various folk bands during my university days in Belfast.

In 1992 I packed a bag and guitar and left the “troubled” shores of Northern Ireland. I embarked on an eighteen month journey that took me from the blue mountains of the Caribbean to the dusty roads of the Transkei. Songs and stories were exchanged with people from every walk of life and I came to realise we all shared the same dreams, the same needs and the same desires.

In 2002 I immigrated with my wife and children to Australia and began working as a family doctor.

After reading about the SIEV X tragedy (http://sievx.com/) I wanted to help in some way.  It was then I decided to record this album of original songs.

These songs were produced by Stuart Long at Red Planet Studios Hobart Tasmania.  I am especially grateful to all the musicians that gave up their time to help with this project.

So remember when you download a track or buy a personally signed album you will be supporting a good cause!

Cheers
Conn O’Neill
